Engineering a Better World Starts Here

Welcome to The XyayX Environmental engineering labs

At The XyayX Institute, both our Brooklyn and Kinston campuses feature dedicated, state-of-the-art STEM Labs built to serve between 25–50 students at a time. These labs are designed to foster hands-on, project-based learning in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Each location includes:

  • A fully equipped Robotics & Engineering Room

  • An interactive Makerspace with 3D printers, electronics tools, and prototyping materials

  • A dedicated Environmental Research Laboratory for student-led air, soil, and water quality testing

  • Additional instructional areas for coding, digital design, and STEM theory

Whether students are building robots, programming Arduino microcontrollers, launching environmental research, or designing inventions from scratch, our STEM Labs provide the space, tools, and mentorship to bring big ideas to life.

Partner With Us to Expand STEM Access & Opportunity

Our STEM Labs aren’t just spaces—they're launchpads for innovation. Students across grade levels use the labs daily for immersive, interdisciplinary projects that combine science, engineering, technology, and environmental research.

Programs and projects include:

  • Robotics & Mechatronics: Students design and build functioning robotic systems, including robotic arms, rovers, and sensor-based automation.

  • Coding & Physical Computing: Hands-on programming with Arduino, ESP32, and other microcontrollers to power devices and data collection tools.

  • Environmental Engineering Research: Students use real sensors to collect air, soil, and water quality data in local gardens and green spaces as part of our citizen science initiatives.

  • Makerspace Projects: From 3D-printed tools to wearable tech, students bring their ideas to life using digital fabrication, circuitry, and design thinking.

  • Smart Farming & Sustainability: Integration of IoT devices into gardens for monitoring climate, soil, and crop health—connecting agriculture with technology.
